CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You have just booked your Senior Portrait Session! By now, we have talked about the look you are wanting. We have talked about Location!!! Are we shooting in Uptown Charlotte? Are we around Lake Norman? The locations you pick out will affect your wardrobe choices. But no matter what you wear, there are some guidelines that will help the choosing go smoothly!

#1 ACCESSORIZE!!!! This is my FAVORITE! Hats, necklaces, fun funky bracelets, sunglasses... basically anything that we can take on and off quickly to give the image a completely different look.

#2  Say no to the neon. I don't care if its 1989 and your neon green crop top is "super rad".  Neon will create color casts that will not be flattering. 

#3  Avoid wrinkly or clingy fabric. It creates issues when we move a lot...and we move A LOT during a session. If we are in a field in Davidson and you are doing a slow twirl.... we don't want clingy fabric ruining our perfect shot! 

#4 Patterns are good! Patterns are great! Great big patterns are Powerful ....so go easy. Small patterns are easier to incorporate because they translate more towards texture in a picture. You just want to be careful not to mix patterns. 

#5  Wear things that have a flattering fit and compliment your shape. If you choose something that is a little too big, you wont like how your images look even thought your love the dress. And if you pick jeans that are the perfect color, but too small, you will be uncomfortable in the images.... and my camera will know! He is a lie detector. He can see when you are uncomfortable. So stick with things that fit properly and make you feel gorgeous. 

#6 Think about the details. Plan on wearing an off the shoulder top? Be sure to pack an strapless bra. Plan on wearing a white dress? Don't show up in black skivvies.  I don't need to elaborate. You know what I am saying. I don't need to cover every scenario. Just think through each outfit....layer by layer. 

And Finally, when in doubt....ASK ME!!! I'm the Pro. I've done this one million times. Don't ask you girlfriend that says you look perfect in everything. She is a doll, but terrible at honest feedback. Lay out your outfit, snap a picture and send it to me. Ill let you know if it will work, or if it will work with big earrings, or if it will work in tall boots....or if ...it wont work. I promise. I will be super nice...but honest.
