It’s happened exactly the way my Mom said it would. She always told me “fashion comes back around every few decades” and just when I thought it was a total myth, BAM – I heard the utter horror that low rise jeans and skinny brows were busting back onto the scene. Good thing I saved my old Cobain t-shirts and Doc Martens from high school.
Most of my Seniors in the Charlotte and Lake Norman areas are very fashion forward. They love to incorporate trends into their Senior Portraits. For those of you who want to wear the 90’s trend for your senior portraits, here’s a few do’s and don’ts when it comes to keeping the style modern:
JEANS: DO: go for a more flared jean with a looser silhouette DON’T: pair with an oversized top as too much fabric just isn’t flattering
ACCESSORIES: DO: wear simple chokers that accentuate your neck & hoop earrings are always IN! DON’T: just say no to puca shells if they ever try to fight their way onto the scene
CROP TOPS: DO: pair them with Mom jeans to keep your look chic. DON’T: pair them with low-rise jeans as it’s just way too much midriff
BONUS: Listen to someone who lived through the skinny brow decade and survived... don’t touch your brows. Full brows are beautiful and the more you remove the more you’ll spend your future years trying to get them back. Just say no!
